It’s new…It’s “shiny”…So you need it, right?
A lot of our customers have been asking us about the upgrade, so here is our take on the new operating system—If you are running your business applications on Windows 7 or 8 then we recommend that you do NOT upgrade to Windows 10 at this time.
Now, this isn’t because there aren’t many reasons to embrace Microsoft’s new OS (not to mention it’s a free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8 users), but depending on your current software and hardware, there is a potential that Windows 10 may break your business applications.
Believe us, you don’t want to upgrade and suddenly find you’re unable to do business as usual on your PC. This also applies to your printers and scanners, which may require the downloading of new drivers to ensure they work properly on the new platform.
Windows 10 seems like it’s going to be a clean, easy to understand operating system, with a lot of new and helpful tools for users, but just like any “new and shiny” thing that pops up on the technology market, it’s best to wait and let all the bugs get ironed out first. Microsoft is offering the free upgrade for a year, so there’s no need to rush into anything just yet. If you have any questions regarding this upgrade, please discuss this topic with your technician or call the BBTech team at 214-210-4415.
